limsExpress is a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) created by Dynamic Databases, LLC, initially the program was called Lab Master.

The Main Menu is the primary starting point for limsExpress. 

Main

This tab contains links to key areas such as Sample Login, Find Samples and Job Status. There are many other areas on this tab as well. Just click a button and the corresponding form will open.

Client Files

Setup

This tab lists all items used for setting up limsExpress. Before logging in your first project it is a good idea to go here to create your Test Groups, Units, Users, etc. The data you will see in list boxes or combo boxes usually comes from the data in this area.

Management

Many reports are available here to aid in the management of your lab: Price List, Test Count, Sample Count, Holding Time, etc.

In this tab you will see two list boxes, the left if for Chain of Custody PDF files and the one on the right is for all other PDF Files.

Chain of Custody

This is a list of Chain of Custody files ready to be imported into limsExpress. To be seen on the list and imported the name of the file has to start with the Lab Number then be followed by a space and end with COC.pdf (102345 COC.pdf).

Refresh List

The Refresh List button will populate the list with all Chain of Custody files that are properly named.

Process Files

Code that will go through the list of files and organize them. There is a Client Files folder and each client has a subfolder with their Client_ID as the name of the folder. Each Lab Number will have it's own subfolder where all PDF files for that Lab Number are stored. limsExpress does this for you based on the file name.

Open Folder

This button will open the folder where the files are stored prior to proccessing them. (L:MyLab\Import\COCs\)

Additional Files

This is a list of additional PDF files ready to be imported into limsExpress. These could be instructions on how to treat a well or a lab sheet. To be seen on the list and imported the name of the file has to start with the Lab Number then be followed by a space, a desciption and end with .pdf (102345 Turbidity.pdf).

Refresh List

The Refresh List button will populate the list with all additional files that are properly named.
